OTTAWA – In a bold new step toward reconciliation (or maybe just camping), Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that every First Nations family will receive a 10-litre aluminum pot so they can “boil their way to equality.”
“Boil-water advisories aren’t a crisis, they’re a community activity,” Trudeau declared, beaming as he stirred an empty pot for the cameras. “Families gather around, laugh, share stories, and sometimes even boil things. Honestly, it’s beautiful.”
The rollout featured Trudeau personally handing pots to families in line, pausing every three seconds for selfies. At one point he crouched down to give a pot to a child, whispering: “Remember, I too am basically Indigenous because of my Haida raven tattoo.”
Trudeau: The Outdoor Survival Guide
The Prime Minister insisted municipal water systems are “too colonial” and suggested First Nations look to programs he’s already funded in Africa: “They know how to find water in the desert. With these pots, Canadians can learn the same. It’s called resilience.”
When pressed about purification chemicals, Trudeau grew serious: “Chlorine is violent to Mother Earth. Boiling is natural. Fire cleanses. Also, it photographs much better for Instagram.”
Pots for Progress
Each pot comes with an instruction manual—produced at a cost of $27 million—advising recipients to:
- Find water (recommended sources: rivers, puddles, or tears of frustration).
- Boil until safe (about the same time it takes for a Liberal campaign promise to evaporate).
- Compost the manual (because reconciliation must be eco-friendly).
The program is estimated to cost taxpayers $300 million, mostly due to “consultations, decorative pot paint, and Trudeau’s photo ops.”

Looking Ahead
Trudeau hinted that future phases may include “complimentary ladles” or possibly funded workshops on how to carry pots on your head like they do in documentaries.
At press time, several First Nations leaders were seen banging the pots together in protest, chanting: “We asked for clean water, not a cookware set.”
